Hi! I'm so happy you're here! I love fashion & style (with a little bit of lifestyle and travel). To me, style is all about self-expression. I have so much fun putting outfits together and connecting with other people who love fashion as much as me!

I have a 9-5 at an ad agency and I'm also a photographer. I have my MBA and also a cosmetology license. You could say I like to keep busy.

I live in the suburbs of Detroit and I love this city. I hope to share some of that in my posts!

Top 10 Travel Items

Hi Friends!

This post is dedicated to the top 10 things I've bought that have been so essential to my travels. These things range from safety items to organization, but they're all things that I always bring with me!

1. TRAVEL CUBES

I use these on EVERY SINGLE TRIP I go on. Whether it's a small weekend trip up north where I may not need many outfits options or a longer trip to another state, etc. I use these in my carry on size luggage and my larger checked suitcase. They are SO HELPFUL when packing. I typically pack by item - meaning I use one cube for shirts, one for bottoms, etc. It depends where I'm going, sometimes I switch up that organization, but it always helps nonetheless. I can easily find things in my suitcase once I get to my destination, instead of rummaging around in my suitcase and making a huge mess. I've bought both the set in the picture and this set. 10/10 recommend these.

2. WATER BOTTLE

Okay, this one may seem less important, but trust me, it's not. Let me set the scene... it's 2011, I'm 21 years old and I'm on my first girls trip to Vegas. I wake up one morning in pure panic, certain that I'm having a panic attack (because ya know... I do get those). I call my mom, obviously, and she says "have you drank enough water?" YOU GUYS, I wasn't having a panic attack (that time), I was dehydrated!!! Ever since then, I always remember to have a water bottle with me. It's been so helpful because I can just fill it up wherever I am. Especially if the trip has a hike, you have to have water!

The exact hydroflask that I have from REI is a 32oz, but it's sold out! However, there are other colors in 32oz, 24oz, and 40oz, in the same style I have!

3. LAUNDRY BAG

This doesn't need much of an explanation, right? It's so nice to have a separate bag to keep anything that needs to be washed when you get home. I bring mine on every trip!

4. BACKPACK

I bring this everywhere with me, too! This is my travel backpack, my hiking backpack, my go-to backpack! I usually bring this on the plane with me as my personal item. Then it doubles as the perfect back for hiking. On the plane, I usually fill my backpack with my smaller crossbody purse, a book, my camera, and sometimes a jacket/sweater. My water bottle goes in the side pocket! It looks like there are different colors on Amazon and Eddie Bauer. Pick your fav!

5. DOOR STOP ALARM

This door stop alarm makes me feel really safe wherever I travel to. You simply stick it under the door of your room, and if someone tries to open the door, it sounds a really loud alarm.

6. BIRDIE

While we're on the subject of safety, this little thing is something I actually carry around with me everywhere - both in everyday life and while traveling. The birdie has a keychain so you can hook it onto your keys or bag or wherever you'd like. You pull it apart and a loud alarm goes off - hopefully scaring away anyone that could be harmful.

7. RFID BAG/WALLET

An RFID wallet or bag is important to bring on any trip. If you ever search things you should bring on an international trip, this always comes up. Which I do agree with. But, I also like the added security of bringing this on smaller, domestic trips as well. It's just nice to have less to worry about when you're not home!

The one I use is Arden Cove. It has a bunch of security features but is also super cute which I love. Along with being an RFID bag, it also has an anti-slash lining, cut-proof strap, locking zippers, and is waterproof!

8. CAMERA BAG

This won't apply to everyone, but even if you're not a part-time-side-hustle-photographer like me, a lot of people bring DSLRs on vacation! I really like this camera bag that I have because I can put my camera in my backpack and feel better knowing it's in a padded case with some extra security. And, it fits right around the shape of the camera so there's no added bulk.

9. TRAVEL JEWELRY/MAKE UP CASE

I love keeping organized, both at home and when traveling. I love all my Ellis James Designs bags, especially the ones for travel! Each bag has compartments that are perfect for organization while traveling. I have a jewelry case and a make up brush case. There's also a toiletry bag and travel make up bag. My make up bag isn't necessarily for travel, but it keeps me organized! Check out this blog post for more info and pictures of these bags.

10. TRAVEL PHONE CHARGER

BIG time necessity, amiright? Can't have our phones dying while on a trip!

Those are my top 10 travel items that I feel are pretty much essential while traveling! I mean, aside from some cute outfits. What are your top travel items?
