Hi! I'm so happy you're here! I love fashion & style (with a little bit of lifestyle and travel). To me, style is all about self-expression. I have so much fun putting outfits together and connecting with other people who love fashion as much as me!

I have a 9-5 at an ad agency and I'm also a photographer. I have my MBA and also a cosmetology license. You could say I like to keep busy.

I live in the suburbs of Detroit and I love this city. I hope to share some of that in my posts!

Follow me on Instagram for all the latest. You can also follow me on LikeToKnow. It to shop my looks! I'll try to include links on my blog to shop too!

My Experience at The Beauty Parlor in Grosse Pointe

juliewardi

Hello!

I’m excited to share my experience at The Beauty Parlor in Grosse Pointe. My first impression when driving there was this cute little salon was in a super cute little area in Grosse Pointe. I’m excited to explore that area more, especially in the summer!

The salon has a really comfortable feel when walking in. It’s small but decorated very cute. It feels like a cozy/family atmosphere.

The first service I got was brow lamination. I’ve wanted to get this done since I heard about it (even though it's pretty new, lol). Alicia was great because she explained the whole process to me. She was also easy to talk to! The brow lamination is a process to put and keep all your hairs in place. Alicia brushed my all my brow hairs up, then continued with the process of the lamination, then waxed/cleaned up any stray hairs. I really liked the shape of my brows after and how full they looked!

The picture below is about 3 weeks after the lamination and my brows still look great! The service can last 6-8 weeks, depending on the client.

The next thing I had done at The Beauty Parlor was a dip manicure! I’ve always gotten gel or shellac on my nails and this was my first time trying dip so I was excited. Below is the outcome!

The thing that I really noticed about this salon was the sense of community. All of the employees really had each other’s backs and supported one another. They were quick to say what their co-worker was good at and pointed out each other’s skills. I really liked and appreciated this supportive space!
