Hi! I'm so happy you're here! I love fashion & style (with a little bit of lifestyle and travel). To me, style is all about self-expression. I have so much fun putting outfits together and connecting with other people who love fashion as much as me!

I have a 9-5 at an ad agency and I'm also a photographer. I have my MBA and also a cosmetology license. You could say I like to keep busy.

I live in the suburbs of Detroit and I love this city. I hope to share some of that in my posts!

Follow me on Instagram for all the latest. You can also follow me on LikeToKnow. It to shop my looks! I'll try to include links on my blog to shop too!

What to Pack - Denver

Whenever I’m planning a trip, I love to read blogs about what to pack, wear, do, or see in that specific area. Last month, I had the opportunity to go to Denver to see downtown & to do some hiking in the mountains.

DET > DEN

I wanted to wait until after my trip to do a “what to pack” blog so that I could be really honest and let you guys know what worked and what didn’t work.

My first tip to smart packing is to use travel organizers/containers/bags. It really helps to make your bag so much more organized and you can easily find what you’re looking for instead of searching through a big pile of clothes and things. I got mine on Amazon (of course, right?)

My next tip is to physically plan out your outfits. I am 100% guilty of over-packing; I always feel like I need options and “what if” pieces. But I think that laying out my outfits really helped me to narrow it down, instead of just randomly throwing pieces into a bag. (And then throwing in more.. and more..)

When we were planning our trip, we kept hearing that the weather in Denver can change drastically within a day (similar to Michigan -\_(ツ)_/¯) So I wanted to bring layers to accommodate for weather changes. Also, we were planning on doing some hiking so I needed clothes for that. Below is our complete itinerary, day-to-day, along with the outfits I wore and links to either the exact product or something similar!

Day 1 – Garden of the Gods

On day one, we went straight from the airport to hiking at Garden of the Gods so my outfit had to be appropriate for a plane ride anddd hiking. I went with leggings, a t-shirt, tennis shoes and a hoodie. Since we weren’t that high in altitude, it stayed fairly warm throughout the hike so my t-shirt was sufficient and I put my hoodie in my backpack.

Day 2 – Rocky Mountain National Park

Well, we hiked the equivalent of 94 floors, up to 10,000 feet in elevation and had only 75% of the oxygen that we typically have sooooo it’s safe to say I felt like I couldn’t breathe BUT it was 100% worth it. It was absolutely beautiful. – It’s colder in the mountains, but also sunny. So, we still wore layers. Hiking base layers to regulate body temperature, leggings, hiking boots with wool socks, a hoodie and a vest. Also, our Plaid/Checkered Two Sided Scarf made it into the mountains! Day 3 – Explore Downtown/Beer Trail

Denver is known for breweries. As of October 2017, Denver has about 70 breweries!. We found a cute beer trail map (link here) and walked from brewery to brewery. The picture is from the RiNo Art District that had quite a few of the breweries and some cool murals! My original planned outfit for this day was jeans, a t-shirt, and a light trench coat, thinking it would be chilly. However, it was 78 degrees so I was thankful that I threw in an off the shoulder, light, long sleeve shirt that I wore with jeans. SO, even though I planned outfits, having SOME extras is beneficial! For a similar look, a cute top like our Button It Up Crop Top (link) would be great for something like going into a downtown area. Or, our Hi-Low Vest (link) would be a comfy and versatile addition; you can wear it over long sleeves if it’s cold or short sleeves if it’s hot!

Day 4 – Botanic Gardens and head home

Again, I needed an outfit that would be appropriate for exploring during the day and for the airplane ride home in the evening. I went with sneakers, leggings (comfy ones here! ), and an off the shoulder sweater. Comfy, cute, and versatile. For a similar look, our Long Sleeve Crochet Tunic (Link) would fit the mold and work perfectly!

So, there you have it. My complete day-to-day Denver itinerary, outfits included. Have you been to Denver? What are your favorites spots? Have any questions? Leave me a comment or send me an email!
